ECALTI, La Trinidad โ This yearโs Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Day has been a pivotal celebration in Epiphany Christian Academy of La Trinidad, Inc. which was held last October 27, 2025 at the La Trinidad Municipal Gymnasium, gathering the pupils, school personnel, parents, guardians, alumni and the community.
To maximize the observance, the school conducted insightful activities such as cultural demonstrations showcasing music, dances, and indigenous games. The pupils were very much delighted to present the Cordillera dances that they have been learning for days. More so, they are equally excited to join the ‘Laro ng Lahi’ and competing to win in sanggol, kadang-kadang and yagyagking.
The Department of Education (DepEd) crafted this year’s theme for its Indigenous Peoples Education (IPEd) Program as: “Ating Pandayin ang Kinabukasan, Gabay ang Katutubong Karunungan at Karapatan” (Let’s Forge the Future, Guided by Indigenous Wisdom and Rights). This theme emphasizes the continued relevance of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Practices (IKSPs) in a rapidly changing world. Additionally, it draws commitment to use contemporary technologies to celebrate, develop, and advocate for cultural heritages.
Navigating the intersection of traditional wisdom and contemporary technology, the community must ensure that technology is developed and used in a way that is ethical, culturally sensitive, and anchored in the fundamental rights of Indigenous Peoples.
The 2025 Indigenous Peoples Education Day Celebration is a collective call to action: to learn from the past, act decisively in the present, and build a future where ancestral wisdom and modern tools work hand-in-hand to ensure the rights and well-being of Indigenous Peoples across the globe.
