History
In 1928, the Philippine Episcopal Church established a church in La Trinidad, Benguet and called it then St. Joseph the Carpenter Mission under the Church of the Resurrection which was established in 1904 by the early American Missionaries. The missionary that was sent to St. Joseph the Carpenter was Miss Elsie Sharp who occupied the Trinidad Clubhouse and who also started the kindergarten class.
“In 1930, Miss Elsie Sharp left for a furlough in May, so Miss Maureen Davis, a trained nurse, a graduate of St. Luke’s Training School, took over Miss Sharp and lived in the Club House
carrying as much as possible the work usually done by Miss Sharp and also teaching the Holy Guardian Angel’s kindergarten and church work. The night school for adult girls in Pico had to be suspended during Miss Sharp’s absence.” (32nd Annual Report of the Philippine Episcopal Church, for the year ending December 31, 1940).
The Epiphany Christian Academy (ECA) is as old as the Parish itself when it was called then the Epiphany Kindergarten School. This was the local church unit’s instrument for pre-school Christian Education which means that it was not only a children day-caring school but also teaching basic church’s catechetical instructions. Part of the operation of this institution was to prepare the children for the grade school by teaching them how to read and write. Miss Elsie Sharp managed the kindergarten class in this manner with the help of Miss Gladys Agayas together with Miss Innocencia Baiguen. Miss Elsie Sharp organized also the Women’s Auxiliary, Young People’s Christian Fellowship (YPCF) apart from the Christian Education classes from which the kindergarten school began. Mrs. Lily Catanes came in next after Miss Elsie Sharp. Mrs. Eliza Omengan followed as the “lone-long” time Kindergarten teacher even when there was the beginning of commercialization of Pre-School in the locality. Population of the Kindergarten class increased hence more teachers had to be hired and therefore it required someone to head the school. A member of the vestry was then assigned to manage the students and the teachers. Dr. Evelyn Dimas, a member of the vestry then, managed the informal pre-school from 1989-1991 on a voluntary basis.
In 1992, through the prodding of parents and by action of the Parish Vestry, this Kindergarten School was transformed into a Formal Pre-School naming it as The Epiphany Learning Center and maintaining a strong education as a mark of a Christian School which continued up to the present. After the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws were grafted and concluded, the school was registered with The Security and Exchange Commission (SEC ) in July 1992 as a non-profit, non-stock corporation through the efforts of the parish priest, the Rev. Joel A. Pachao who became later the Bishop of the EDNCP and now the Prime Bishop of the Philippine Episcopal Church. The following were named as the Incorporators:

Alice B. Alagon Pedro Apacway ( + )
